DIGI-CAM
PAIRING idol bf!jay x non idol gf!reader
WARNINGS none, but light kisses
GENRE fluff
SYNOPSIS while on break mid concert, jay can’t help but allow himself to be distracted by you. and of course, you always have to take a picture on your digicam.
it was about halfway through the concert. and fortunately, the last show of the fate plus tour.
jay had about 10 minutes before he was supposed to go back on stage. he was already changed, just waiting for heeseung, jungwon, and riki to finish up so they could rotate.
he was going to sit next to you backstage and watch them perform from the monitor. going. past tense.
but when he saw you in your concert outfit, holding your lightstick as you watched heeseung sing, jay couldn’t resist. he brought you away from the monitor and took you back to his dressing room.
he sat on the couch, pulling your hand, motioning for you to sit on his lap. and you happily complied, taking the seat since it was rightfully yours. you had your legs on either side of him, wrapping your arms around his neck as he brought his to your waist.
jay began to press light kisses on you, trailing down from your cheek, to your jaw, down to your neck, and all the way to your clavicle.
“baby, what are you doing?” you giggled, tucking your hair behind your ear as you leaned further into him.
“what? i can’t love my girlfriend?” he mumbled, continuing his motions before bringing his head up. he pressed a long and loving kiss against your lips before pulling away to look at you.
“you have to go back soon.” you whispered. “what if someone comes in?”
“let them see. nothing the staff doesn’t already know.” jay sighed, pulling your chest against his. you could hear his heart beating faster as you pressed your ear against it.
“why are you so nervous my love?”
“been so long since i saw you. i missed you.” he smiled into your hair, playing with it a bit.
“it’s barely been 3 weeks.” “that’s still long. i can barely go a day without hearing your voice.”
“sweet talker.” you poked your tongue against your cheek, pulling away to kiss him again. you brought your hand up to his cheek, stroking his soft skin in a comforting manner.
jay moved down, sucking on your bottom lip before jungwon came in, knocking on the door.
that’s when jay realized your time was up. “jay, time to go. hi yn!” “hi jungwon!” you waved happily. jungwon smiled, before closing the door.
“guess i gotta go now.” he pouted. “but, you’ll be here waiting for me, won’t you?” “of course. i’ll be right here, waiting.” you cooed.
jay carefully pulled you off his lap, treating you as if you were porcelain and he was too scared to break or damage you. he got up off the couch, but paused as you pulled his arm. “wait!” you said.
you pulled your small digital camera out your pocket. you pressed your cheek against your lovely boyfriends, snapping the picture, as you both posed and scrunched your noses.
“tradition.” you say, tapping his cheek before letting him go with one last kiss. “love you.” “i love you too.”
it was indeed your little tradition. before jay would perform or have an evaluation, you would always be there, taking the picture with the same pose on that same camera. your tradition since he was a trainee.
you scrolled through all the pictures on your camera, looking back at at the years of memories. and you smiled.
enjoy this fic? read similar works here!

⚕️GASS (Gallifreyan Assessment Scoring System)
Sick Gallifreyan just crossed your path? Here's how to assess their condition using the Gallifreyan Assessment Scoring System. Just remember, 'Gallifreyan life's a GASS'.
BIGGER - Google Drive: PDF / Image JPG / Image PNG
This guide is for use on Gallifreyans and Time Lords only. Always seek your human advice from human health providers.
✨ What is GASS?
The Gallifreyan Assessment Scoring System (GASS) is a tool designed to rapidly evaluate a Gallifreyan's condition. By monitoring vital signs and unique Gallifreyan indicators, it prioritises emergency responses while accounting for their distinct physiology, such as dual hearts and regenerative abilities.
Just remember, Gallifreyan life's a GASS.
📈 What's New in GASS?
This updated version of GASS includes critical refinements for more precise assessments. New categories have been added, such as Heart Rate Differential (HRD) to flag discrepancies between the two hearts and T = Responds to Telepathy in the level of consciousness scale. Adjustments to thresholds for vital signs and regenerative glow visibility also improve detection of emergencies like fibrillation or post-regenerative trauma.
📝 How to Use GASS
1️⃣Initial Observations
Ensure the environment is safe (e.g., no stray Daleks).
Observe for immediate signs of distress: skin colour, breathing effort, or lack of responsiveness.
2️⃣Evaluate Vital Signs and Assign Scores
Refer to the GASS table to assess each category:
🌬️ Respiration Rate: Count breaths per minute. Adjust for respiratory bypass if present.
🫧 Supplemental Oxygen: Note if oxygen support is in use.
🌡️ Temperature: Measure orally.
Systolic BP: Record using a normal sphygmomanometer.
💖 Hearts Rate (Combined): Count the total bpm across both hearts.
🔄 Hearts Rhythm: Sequential beats (thud-thud, thud-thud) are normal; synchronous beats (thud-thud together) indicate fibrillation.
⚖️ Heart Rate Differential (HRD): Calculate the bpm difference between hearts; large discrepancies suggest possible singular heart failure.
🧠 Level of Consciousness (AVPTU): A = Alert, V = Responds to verbal stimuli, P = Responds to pain, T = Responds to telepathy, U = Unresponsive
✨ Regenerative Glow: Check for visible energy on the skin.
3️⃣Check for Healing Coma
If 8+ healing coma criteria are met:
Cease active interventions.
Monitor closely for changes.
Avoid premature waking to prevent neurological damage.
4️⃣Calculate Total GASS Score
Add up the scores from all categories:
0: No concerning changes. Continue routine monitoring.
1–4: Mild to moderate changes. Perform an ABCDE assessment and increase monitoring.
5–8 or 3 in single score: Severe changes. Perform ABCDE, escalate care, and consider sepsis.
≥9 or Glow = 3: Extreme changes. Initiate emergency intervention, constant monitoring, and prepare for sepsis protocols.
5️⃣Reassess After Interventions
Following each intervention, reassess the GASS score to adapt care and ensure stability.
🚨 When to Escalate
Critical signs: Synchronous heartbeats, extreme HRD, or GASS score ≥9.
Sepsis or Specific Emergencies: Use respective protocols for management.
📌 Key Points to Remember
Combine GASS results with clinical judgement.
Healing comas are protective states—let them run their course.
Escalate care if in doubt.

I'm always amazed by how different each strain of covid affects those who develop long covid afterwards. A small study, but data worth future addition to meta-analysis.
Individuals with post-COVID-19 syndrome had a 5.7-fold higher risk of being diagnosed with a new chronic condition, with 44% reporting cardiovascular disease, and a 6.8-fold higher likelihood of needing medical care or leave.
"Just a cold" that makes between 1 in 5 and one half of people over 600x more likely to need medical care.
Abstract Post-Coronavirus Disease 2019 (post-COVID-19) syndrome represents a cluster of persistent symptoms following Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection that can severely affect quality of life. The pathogenic mechanisms and epidemiology in different regions are still under evaluation. To assess the outcomes of post-COVID-19 syndrome, we performed a questionnaire-based, cross-sectional study in previously infected individuals. Out of 549 respondents, (male:female ratio: 0.32), 29.5% had persistent symptoms at 3 months, 23.5% had persistent symptoms at 6 months, and 18.3% had persistent symptoms at 12 months after the initial infection. The most common symptoms included fatigue (8.7%), sleep disturbances (7.1%), and cognitive impairment (6.4%). The risk of developing post-COVID-19 syndrome increased for those with more symptoms in the acute phase (OR 4.24, p < 0.001) and those experiencing reinfections (OR 2.405, p < 0.001), while SARS-CoV-2 vaccination halved the risk (OR = 0.489, p = 0.004). Individuals with post-COVID-19 syndrome had a 5.7-fold higher risk of being diagnosed with a new chronic condition, with 44% reporting cardiovascular disease, and a 6.8-fold higher likelihood of needing medical care or leave. Affected individuals reported significant impairments in mobility, pain/discomfort, and anxiety/depression, with 20.7% needing to adjust their work schedules. Overall, patients with post-COVID-19 syndrome require ongoing monitoring and rehabilitation, and further socio-economic impact studies are needed.

Athletic Lessions Pt 1: Nagi Seishiro x reader
Read PART II // PART III Genre: Slow-burn, Wholesome, Mutual Growth, Subtle Romance Setting: Blue Lock Training Grounds
Summary: What happens when ambition meets laziness and tension begins to rise. Find hatred and dislike in a connection and trainer and Prodegy have to find out how they can achieve their goals together?
Authors Note: y/n = your name and L/n= last name // GIF not mine //h/c = hair color // nor proof read, sorry ^^
When you received the call from Ego himself about a month ago, you thought it was a joke. You had been helping your father in his training facility for about a year. Richard, your father, was very respected in the sports world. He looked after all the top athletes like Leon Messy, Kyle Bappe and Christian Roland. Monitoring physical performance, supervising physical training and evaluating data. You and your best friend Ami were planning to fly to Sweden at the end of the year, so you started working while attending college to finance the trip.
When you heard that you would actually be working the same way as you already did with your dad and that the paycheck would easily finance the entire trip, so you agreed. That's how you ended up in the leather seat of a private jet, together with other boys and flew to Japan. You had a brief and concise explanation of what was coming next, when the boy next to you suddenly leaned in towards you.
"You know, they chose young adults as trainers to make the training easier and more relaxed. I think Ego believes, these are optimal training conditions," he said in an omniscient tone of voice. You looked at him confused. Also a bit annoyed, he had just violated your personal space like it was nothing....you didn't know each other, not even his name.
He saw the emotions and questions running across your face and seemed to realize where his mistake was when he said, "Oh sorry, I'm Maximilian, feel free to call me Max."
“Hi Max,” you say friendly. "How come, you know all this stuff about the Blue Lock program? I thought its very much a secret..."
"Ah, you know, my mother used to work for a sports team at the beginning of her career… she supervised Egos team in media stuff, back when he was still playing, you know. So basically I have all the good insider information," he smiled with a sparkle in his eyes.
You made friends with Max for the rest of the flight, you had more than enough time after all. Philippe, the boy in the seat to the left of you, had joined the conversation at some point. With the two of you at your side, your nervousness disappeared more and more. Only to rise again into the immeasurable, after landing… Now, this crazy adventure of yours would start.
A black, sleek traveling bus took you to the Bluelock facility. Its buildings towering tall over all of you.
--------------- 2 hours later ----------------------------
The ceremony was stiff, formal, and—ironically for a program like Blue Lock—military toned. Rows of Blue Lock players stood on one side of the gym, while the athletic trainers faced them across the polished floor. Ego had just explained, over the giant screen, that you and the others were brought into BlueLock to maximize and perfect the physical abilities of the young players.
You stood near the center, clipboard in hand, trying to look composed in your athletic uniform. Blue, just like the players' "uniforms". Your top had hexagon patterns in a light blue on the sides, which was repeated in your shorts. It suited you very well. Despite your professionalism, you could feel the stares. You became even more nervous.
You were the only female trainer. And the Blue Lock boys, despite their killer instincts and inflated egos, were still teenage athletes with eyes. Not to mention the fact that the boys had been here for weeks and had little contact with the outside world because of the strict training schedules and rules.
"Who's that? She's kinda cute.", Tabito whispered, stealing a glance at you. "Think I can ask for a switch?", Kenyu aksed more to himself. "Tch. She's probably not impressed by weaklings like you.", Rin said unfazed.
You heard the whispers but didn’t acknowledge them. Instead, you stood tall as Ego Jinpachi walked between the two lines like a general, tablet in hand, expression as unreadable as ever. It was rare for Ego himself to set a foot on the field.
“This is not a popularity contest,” he began, voice cold and sharp. “Each player has been matched to a trainer based on compatibility, athletic needs, and psychological contrast. You won’t like each other, you don’t have to, thats not what we are here for. You will grow.”
You resisted the urge to roll your eyes. Seems to be a classic Ego.
He began calling out names. One by one, players were matched with trainers. Some high-fived, others looked confused or nervous. Then:
“Nagi Seishiro. Assigned to (L/N) (Y/N).”
Your head snapped up. Across the way, a tall, sleepy-eyed white-haired boy raised a brow. He blinked slowly at you like he wasn’t sure if he was supposed to react—or if he even wanted to. Shit, you got the indisciplined and lazy player. How are you supposed to uphold your father's good reputation when the player you were supposed to coach looked like he skipped every practice session?
You stepped forward, clipboard still tucked under your arm, slightly in a bad mood. “Guess I’m stuck with you.”
He scratched the back of his neck. “Man… I was hoping I’d get someone easy.” Someone simple? What did he mean by that? Probably someone who didn't care whether he skipped the training sessions. Lost in thought, you looked at the mirrored wall of the room… your look was scary and serious. Maybe that's why he said it.
You gave him a flat look. “And I was hoping I’d get someone who can hold a plank for more than 10 seconds.”, was your clearly cold and annoyed answer.
The corner of his mouth twitched. “Guess we’re both outta luck then.”
The first few weeks were a nightmare. Nagi treated working out like it was a punishment invented to make his life harder. He slumped through stretches, whined about burpees, and once tried to trade his leg day with Reo like it was some playground lunch deal. Or he didn't show up for training at all.
By now it was common practice for you to wait outside his room in the morning just to personally drag him to training. He hated it. Every morning his roommates were happy to see you, which resulted in a jam at the door. Once, he took advantage of this chaos to sneak up on you for breakfast, without being noticed. But that only meant 20 more push-ups.
In his eyes you were merciless, cruel and far too ambitious. After all, he would be standing on the field playing soccer and not you. What did you get out of torturing him like that??
----------- Same day: trainers lunch -------------
“Ugh, he’s a total disaster,” you complained to Max and Philippe. "Why is that? He actually looks quite athletic," asked Max, astonished.
"He skips training sessions and when he shows up, he always only gives 50%…how am I supposed to get this idiot fit for the U20, if he just refuses??" you said with an ever-increasing anger.
Philippe just laughed, amused by your reaction. "You know, I have to train this guy named Kenyu, he's supposed to be a model. He's really a handful too"
“At least he’s coming to training,” you said as you looked lost into your spaghetti. How are you supposed to get him fit?
----------- Same day: players lunch -------------
"Dude, training today was awesome. I notice how strong I've become," said Tabito, visibly proud of his progress. Reo chimed in, "Yeah, right? My trainer, this Max really knows what hes doing."
"What about you Rin, what's training like for you?" Kunigami asked between bites of his steak.
"Ugh, this guy is supposed to make me stronger…not waste my time" Classic Rin, all he could think about was soccer. Judging by the way Isagi looked, he seemed to share the same opinion as Rin.
Plop! A tray crashed onto the boys' table. Nagi had just sat down, his gaze firmly fixed on his console. "Hey Nagi, we're talking about strength training. How's yours?" Reo asked while he was getting ready for his pudding.
"Yes, tell me how's it going," Kenyu asked with interest, "At least you got the only female and very attractive trainer."
"She's annoying," Nagi said curtly, bored by the question.
This statement visibly surprised the boys. "Why is that?" Isagi asked. "I wish I had her…her training program looks so good."
"It's such a hassle. She's always complaining…it annoys me and is stressful," he said as he got up to take the tray away. The boys looked at him in bewilderment.
------ Time Skip ----------
Weeks had passed and you and Nagi hadn't really made any progress. The only notable success was, that he now came to training voluntarily and did so comparatively often.
But that afternoon everything was about to change. He entered training field number 3 and wondered, why you guys were suddenly training on the soccer field. He saw you sitting on the grass and was confused. "Sit down," she said in a commanding but friendly voice. And that's what he did.
"You're going to sit here for a whole hour," she said, not lifting her eyes from the clipboard in her arm. "Sit? Just sit," Nagi asked confused. "Yes," she said as if it were the most normal thing in the world.
He shrugged his shoulders…this seemed to be a relaxed training session. He was about to get up and go to his training bag when y/n picked it up and walked to the door. You saw his questioning look and said, "Just sit, you shouldn't do anything else, just that. Can you manage that?" Your voice sounded a little more condescending than you intended. You closed the door, but unknowingly left a little parting.
Minutes passed by. What's the point of that? Nagi asked himself. That was a complete waste of time. How was he supposed to be the best striker ever, if he just sat here. Sure, the training and games with Ego were annoying and he would love to go back to his console…but a leat he would get something out of it. This sittitng thing of yours....it was beyond his laziness.
He was pulled out of a thought when voices appeared in the hallway…one of them was…yours??
"Y/n, what are you doing here alone? Aren't you supposed to be training with Nagi?" asked the unknown voice. “I do, I just adapted to his level and willingness to perform,” you said in a sharp voice that carried a tiny bit of another feeling. Could it be disappointment?
So that's how you saw him? As a lazy, undisciplined person, whos not worth training? He was used to people reacting strangely to his way, but this reaction and the realization, of what it meat, hurt him somehow.
An hour had passed when the door was pushed open with a flourish. There you stood, the light from the hallway made you look like a divine figure. “Get up, practice is over,” you said as you placed his bag in front of him. "What's that about?" he asked with a mixture of curiosity, hurt and anger.
“How did you feel during this hour,” you ask him with interest. "Like you're wasting my time," he said angrily.
“Good,” was all you said. "Now you know how I feel whenever you decide there are more important things than coming to our training!" Realizing what you just said, he looked down. You were right. Being the egoist that he was, he had never thought about it.
Despite how much he resisted at first, after that afternoon, you began to notice the small changes.
He stopped ghosting morning drills. He started bringing his water bottle without you nagging. Actively listened when you had something to say and asking questions every now and then. And when you once joked, “You’ll thank me when you’re scoring with those thighs, that I left you sitting on the field” he’d turned bright red and actually tried in that day’s leg press.
Little by little, he started to grow. And little by little something started to grow between you. Not just cooperation—but quiet respect. Some sort of connection.
During your time off from training with him, he secretly watched you. on the way back from the gym. You played soccer with the other trainers. You did well. he found you to be a very varied, especially a tactical player. He now went to the weight room four times a week. Once more than you had ordered him to do. He wouldn't admit it, but he wanted to show you that he could improve. And that he was worth your time and effort.
You stopped seeing him as a lazy prodigy. You saw the subtle competitiveness in him, the hunger to be better—especially when you praised him (he loved it so much). And he started seeing you, as more than just another person telling him what to do. You pushed him, yeah—but most importantly you noticed him. Encouraged him. Believed in him.
------ One late afternoon----------
One late afternoon, after a brutal agility circuit, Nagi sat on the floor, breathing hard but not complaining for once. You tossed him a towel, and he caught it with a practiced flick of the wrist.
“You didn’t skip a single training in three weeks,” you said, surprised.
He glanced up at you through silver lashes. “Yeah. I noticed you stopped looking annoyed. Thought that was kinda nice.”
You blinked, caught off guard. “So... you’re saying my approval’s your motivation or something?”
He leaned back on his hands, smirk lazy but sharp. “You work hard. I thought maybe I should try too. Plus…” His gaze flicked up and down briefly, just enough to make you fluster. “Effort looks good on you. Figured I’d try it on myself.”
You turned your head, hiding your smile. “You’re such a problem, handful lazy-ass” You initially called him that out of frustration, but it had grown more into some sort of a teasing pet name.
“Mm.” He stood, towel draped around his neck. “But I’m your problem now.”
You shook your head, heart oddly full. And from across the field, Reo watched the exchange with wide eyes, nudging Bachira with a knowing grin.
“Y’know,” Reo muttered, “he’s never trained this hard for anyone. Not even Ego.”
Bachira tilted his head. “Kinda strange, meh i dont care how others do...i focus on improving myself.”
Little did they know how much Nagi would focus on his improvement, because of you.
Because effort looked good on Nagi Seishiro. But the way he looked at you, like you were the goal he didn’t realize he needed to score— That looked even better.
PART II will be coming soon. Stay tuned! <3

Mother's Month Recap, Part 2: What Is Pre-Conception?
At SMC, our passion for healthcare follows a steady rhythm. We care for our patients and our community in an unbroken cycle of practice. One way we embody this is by our Fourfold Path:
-> Support -> Observe -> Unlock -> Renew ->
During Mother's Month, we focused especially on Renewal, but we also realize that maternity doesn't just begin at conception. It begins much earlier, on your terms - with readiness, preparation, and submission. For this reason, we have developed a special approach to helping our pregnant-curious patients prepare themselves: Pre-Conception Readiness Protocol (PCRP)
This comprehensive sequence is an intimate look at your body and its readiness for the labors of maternity - literally and figuratively. SMC will take you through three intensive phases of readiness evaluation:
Phase I: Intake & Baseline Profiling; “Your baseline, your body. Gently documented.”
Phase II: Cardiopulmonary and Physical Resilience; “Can your heart carry another?”
Phase III: Pelvic & Uterine Evaluation; “Before the womb is filled, it must be understood.”
This process can take several weeks. During this time, eligible patients can also elect to be considered for our Protomom Program, where a more intensive form of the PCRP approach is available for "high-performing" maternal candidates. In these photos, taken during our recent Mother's Month campaign, we see three patients at the very beginning of their journey, undergoing simple intake evaluations under PCRP Phase I. Weighing and anthropometry are the order of the day - and of course continuous blood pressure monitoring, to track this critical health parameter. In the coming days, we'll take a look at the rest of Phase I, then onto the subsequent phases of PCRP. ===== All our info in our Link-in-Bio: https://specialmedicalcentre.myflodesk.com/

Stray Kids, Episode 8: the audience is filled with camera men
Concert time in Shinchon! We have our Stray Kids, a concert stage in the middle of the street, tons of fans, and some mystery guests posing as fans to evaluate and possibly eliminate. There’s a LOT at stake here. Let’s goooo!
The show is still calling this “busking.” I think actual buskers would like a word.

Our boys are overwhelmed by the crowd size and trying to get their bearings. They bow and make their very first introduction to the public. The girls scream in response. Bang Chan thanks everyone for coming out on such a cold night. The girls scream in response. Han asks if anyone has been watching their survival show on Mnet. The girls scream in response. Are the group’s mics even on?
The group members then introduce themselves individually, and while they wait for their turns, Woojin and Bang Chan spot Jun K from 2pm in the crowd, along with Rado of the songwriting and production team Black Eyed Pilseung. We have our first mystery guests!

Jun K and Rado
Our next two are Noh Kyu Min and Yoon Joon Pil. They’re celebrity reporters from TenAsia, a pop culture news website similar to Entertainment Weekly or PopMatters.

TenAsia celebrity reporters
We’re not done. As Changbin talks to the crowd, we see two more mystery guests arrive backstage. It’s Yugyeom and BamBam from GOT7! As they settle in to watch the show on a monitor, they’re joined by – oh my God I love this group – Sungjin and YoungK from Day6!

So much is happening at once. Onstage, Seungmin announces their first song, “Hellevator.” The crowd knows this one, since the music video has been out for a while. This is a rough one for our boys, because they’ve had to change the song’s arrangement and choreo from nine members to eight. (Seriously, when is Lee Know coming back?)
No time to dwell on it. Time for “Hellevator.” Let’s do this.

A few mistakes here and there. Someone’s clip-on mic comes loose. (They’re all moving so fast, I can’t see whose it is.) Woojin’s voice misses a high note. They’re clearly nervous, but overall, it’s a good performance. They just need to shake off the pressure, clip that mic back on, and focus.
Changbin acknowledges to the crowd that they are now eight instead of nine. “Today, I think about him more,” he says. The crowd shouts encouragement. I.N, who is an immediate crowd favorite, announces the next song. It’s “School Life.” He really is adorable. Okay, showtime!

WAY better. They’re more confident now, and Bang Chan interacts with the audience, provoking even more adoring screams. They seem to be having fun now. And based on the way even the mystery guests are gushing over him, I think I.N is safe from elimination.
The boys announce their final song, “YAYAYA.” We haven’t heard this one yet, but it’s the one Felix was nervous about in the last episode. We learn that they’ve all had a hard time writing and choreographing this new song in a week, along with the overall rehearsal. They’re all stressed out, and Bang Chan tells us in a confessional that he’s most worried about Felix being eliminated.
We get a flashback to Felix practicing for hours by himself and constantly making mistakes. He suddenly leans against the wall, slides down to the floor, and bursts into tears.

I need a minute.

JYP, if you eliminate that Aussie boy, I will (looking up Australian slang) get aggro on your ass and bung on a blue. I don’t know exactly what that entails, but I mean every bloomin’ word, mate.
Flashback over. Showtime. Come on, Felix…

I love the song. I love the wild energy of the choreo. It’s going incredibly well, and then …

It’s hard to get a clear screenshot, but Felix stumbles during a dance step and almost falls. He recovers immediately and keeps going like nothing happened, but our celebrity guests definitely noticed. The fans, of course, don’t care. They may have been too obsessed with I.N to even notice.

The performance seems to keep going well, and now Felix gets a rap solo. Let’s see him redeem himself. This is the rap he’s been practicing over and over this past week.

Something’s off. I can tell from the expression on Jun K’s face. The subtitles won’t tell us what’s going on, but I think Felix may have been struggling with the lyrics. The boys then finish the song by throwing confetti into the crowd and landing perfectly in their final formation.
They did it. The concert is a success. Felix made some mistakes, but the others made mistakes during the first song. I think he’ll be okay. Honestly, based on the crowd reaction, I don’t see anyone getting eliminated today.
Seungmin thanks the crowd and mentions again that they miss Lee Know. At first, I’m wondering why the group keeps bringing him up, but then I remember the audience has been watching the show. They know he’s been eliminated. The group has to address it. He’s the elephant on the stage.
The group bows, says goodbye, and leaves the stage. The exhilaration gives way to anxiety as they remember they’re about to be evaluated by a lot of famous people. They go backstage and find our GOT7 and Day6 guests. They didn’t even know these idols were watching.

GOT7 and Day6 talk with our boys about what it was like back when they were busking. Fun Fact: The English word “busking” is the same word they use in Korean. Second Fun Fact: WHAT THEY DID WAS NOT BUSKING. Good grief …
We now cut to the day after the concert, and I’m really getting nervous now. JYP has met with Jun K and Rado to review footage of the concert and has told them to judge “coldly.” I stress-eat a box of Triscuits. Now the boys are lined up waiting for their evaluation. For some reason, the room is dark. It looks like they’re about to be executed. Then JYP comes in and sits at a table in front of them. Here we go.

Turns out the concert did not go as well as the fans and I thought it did. JYP tells them he is looking for improvement and growth potential, and he’s worried that some members will take too long to improve. He says he has to eliminate someone who has been the biggest weakness to the team.
I can’t breathe.
He tells Bang Chan he has to improve in everything. His vocals aren’t stable. He tells Woojin that both his vocals and dancing need work. And Hyunjin still has trouble enunciating when he raps.
JYP is more direct when he gets to Felix. He looks Felix right in the eye and says, “You made a mistake in the end. Why did you do that?”

Felix stays quiet. JYP keeps going. “A bigger problem is that when you rap, it doesn’t reach out to me at all, Felix, because you lack in Korean language.” His voice is scolding now. I’m dreading whatever’s about to happen.
JYP takes a long pause. Then he sighs deeply and says that the potential eliminations are Hyunjin, Woojin, and Felix. Of course he’s not going to eliminate Bang Chan. This group needs their leader.

Another long pause.
He tells Woojin he’ll give him another chance to improve. Now it’s down to Hyunjin and Felix.
Again, he tells Felix he’s not good in Korean. He needs to become fluent, which will take time. But he needs more time than the company has to give him.
So, Felix is eliminated.
Felix doesn’t seem to register the news at first. He just nods his head. But his fellow Aussie Bang Chan is blinking back tears. Everyone else is staring at the floor.
JYP goes on to lecture the group about how big the competition is out there, but I’m just waiting for Felix to react. He just isn’t moving.

JYP tells them this elimination will make the group better, which really has to sting. I just want him to shut up at this point, but he tells the remaining seven members to knit themselves tightly together, and he hopes that there will be no more eliminations.
He stands to leave and tells Felix, “You’ve worked hard.” Felix bows and thanks him. When JYP leaves, Felix drops his head and turns away from the rest of the group. Now he cries. His bandmates try to comfort him.

Felix sobs as he apologizes for letting them down, and this is just awful. The worst part is that I understand the decision. Not being fluent in Korean is a huge problem when you’re trying to be a K-pop idol. Learning a language takes way longer than the two months Felix has been here. If I were watching this show when it first aired, the decision would have broken my heart, but I would have understood. It’s only through seeing what a huge star he is now, and how necessary he is to Stray Kids now, that I know it’s not the right decision.
Now we get a moment that I’m pretty sure must be iconic in the STAY fandom. Bang Chan walks over to Felix. In his Australian-accented English, he says, “Always find me, yeah? I’m never going to leave you behind.”

I don’t know exactly what’s happening in Bang Chan’s mind right now, but he clearly hasn’t given up.

Felix hugs the rest of his bandmates, and I’m a mess. I know he’s coming back at some point, but this is just AWFUL. We then see him in a confessional. He just looks exhausted.

“My heart hurts a lot,” he tells us. For someone whose Korean is supposed to be so terrible, he’s really expressing himself now. “I don’t know what I should do now.”
Hyunjin tells us, “Felix is like a child. He needs to be taken care of. He has such a warm heart.” Okay, this is officially killing me. Please make it stop.
We get a montage of Felix’s time on the show, set to sad piano music, and I hate everything.

Now Bang Chan is crying in a confessional. Through his sobs, he’s still speaking English. “Even when you were really struggling, I should have been there. I’m so sorry.” That’s all he can get out.

We end with Felix looking into the camera and saying, “To all the Stray Kids members, I’m really thankful. Thank you for helping me a lot. Thank you so much. I’m sorry I can’t be together with you guys.”
With that, the episode ends.
Dammit, Bang Chan, I know you have something planned. Whatever it is, get it done. Get BOTH our boys back.

Do you think Vox or Velvette have any employees they "favour", like Valentino with Angel Dust?
(Also, we know they're horrible bosses, but in what way do you think they abuse their employees? Is it more verbal, physical or a mix of both?)
In what way do you think they abuse their employees? is such a Vees' Stan question to ask. Not if, just how sksksks /lh
I think that Valentino and Angel's thing is super unique, it's not just workplace abuse. They've got history, like decades worth. Angel isn't just another employee; he's Valentino's former partner. I really don't think Vox and Velvette have anything like that going on with anyone else.

That said, I'm pretty convinced Vox bangs the Eel Assistant now and then, thanks to Twitter convincing me (I'm not really shipping it because it screams dubious consent, but I do think it's a thing). Talking about Vox, I've mentioned before how he's all about gaslighting his staff. He's slick with it, especially using it to cover up his own fuck ups. Yes, he's competent but but let's be real, he's also a bit of a chaotic mess and kinda delusional. So, he probably makes some questionable decisions but than puts the blame on others. Also, I have this idea that key VoxTek staff—his personal entourage, managers, engineers, and other pivotal figures—are implanted with microchips (you see this thing on the guy's head???). This not only speaks to Vox's obsession with control, enabling him to monitor and evaluate their performance (with chips linked to VoxTek servers functioning as security keys), but also to electrocute them remotely as a form of discipline or to his own entertainment.
Velvette has a more progressive approach to running her company. You know, like those corporations that have a "People and Culture" department instead of "Human Resources". Her top employees, notably models and content creators, remain untouchable due to their public visibility, necessitating a different management style. She's harsh, and definitely not above manipulation and verbal abuse, but she keeps her favorites happy, in a state of dependent satisfaction. It's all about that influencer magic, isn't it? People tune in to live vicariously through these glossy, picture-perfect lives, dropping cash on anything influencers sell, just to feel a fraction of their happiness. So, the folks at Vitch (don't @ me, I had to came up with some brand name) are all in, trying to hit the mark and bask in the glory Velvette dishes out to her faves. But Velvette's expectations are impossibly high, fostering an environment where her subordinates are perpetually striving for an approval that's always just out of reach.

NASA's Glenn to test lunar air quality monitors aboard space station
As NASA prepares to return to the moon, studying astronaut health and safety is a top priority. Scientists monitor and analyze every part of the International Space Station crew's daily life—down to the air they breathe. These studies are helping NASA prepare for long-term human exploration of the moon and, eventually, Mars.
As part of this effort, NASA's Glenn Research Center in Cleveland is sending three air quality monitors to the space station to test them for potential future use on the moon. The monitors are slated to launch on Monday, April 21, aboard the 32nd SpaceX commercial resupply services mission for NASA.
Like our homes here on Earth, the space station gets dusty from skin flakes, clothing fibers, and personal care products like deodorant. Because the station operates in microgravity, particles do not have an opportunity to settle and instead remain floating in the air. Filters aboard the orbiting laboratory collect these particles to ensure the air remains safe and breathable.
Astronauts will face another air quality risk when they work and live on the moon—lunar dust.
"From Apollo, we know lunar dust can cause irritation when breathed into the lungs," said Claire Fortenberry, principal investigator, Exploration Aerosol Monitors project, NASA Glenn. "Earth has weather to naturally smooth dust particles down, but there is no atmosphere on the moon, so lunar dust particles are sharper and craggier than Earth dust. Lunar dust could potentially impact crew health and damage hardware."
Future space stations and lunar habitats will need monitors capable of measuring lunar dust to ensure air filtration systems are functioning properly. Fortenberry and her team selected commercially available monitors for flight and ground demonstration to evaluate their performance in a spacecraft environment, with the goal of providing a dust monitor for future exploration systems.
Glenn is sending three commercial monitors to the space station to test onboard air quality for seven months. All three monitors are small: no bigger than a shoe box. Each one measures a specific property that provides a snapshot of the air quality aboard the station. Researchers will analyze the monitors based on weight, functionality, and ability to accurately measure and identify small concentrations of particles in the air.
The research team will receive data from the space station every two weeks. While those monitors are orbiting Earth, Fortenberry will have three matching monitors at Glenn. Engineers will compare functionality and results from the monitors used in space to those on the ground to verify they are working as expected in microgravity. Additional ground testing will involve dust simulants and smoke.
Air quality monitors like the ones NASA is testing also have Earth-based applications. The monitors are used to investigate smoke plumes from wildfires, haze from urban pollution, indoor pollution from activities like cooking and cleaning, and how virus-containing droplets spread within an enclosed space.
Results from the investigation will help NASA evaluate which monitors could accompany astronauts to the moon and eventually Mars. NASA will allow the manufacturers to review results and ensure the monitors work as efficiently and effectively as possible. Testing aboard the space station could help companies investigate pollution problems here on Earth and pave the way for future missions to the Red Planet.
"Going to the moon gives us a chance to monitor for planetary dust and the lunar environment," Fortenberry said. "We can then apply what we learn from lunar exploration to predict how humans can safely explore Mars."
NASA commercial resupply missions to the International Space Station deliver scientific investigations in the areas of biology and biotechnology, Earth and space science, physical sciences, and technology development and demonstrations. Cargo resupply from U.S. companies ensures a national capability to deliver scientific research to the space station, significantly increasing NASA's ability to conduct new investigations aboard humanity's laboratory in space.

Behind Closed Doors (part 14)
Pairing: Cillian x Y/N.
Warnings: Pregnancy complications.

Cillian was jolted awake by the sound of his ringtone. Groggily, he fumbled for his phone, blinking at the screen as your name flashed across it. “Y/N?” he answered, his voice rough with sleep.
“Cillian… I’m bleeding,” you said, your voice trembling.
Cillian was instantly wide awake. He threw off the covers, already heading for the door. “Hang in there, I’ll be there in a moment,” he promised, his heart racing as he grabbed his coat and keys, rushing out of his house. He drove like a man possessed, ignoring red lights and speed limits as he tore through the streets to get to you.
Back in your apartment, fear gripped you tightly. You had gone to the bathroom to check your panties, and the sight of fresh blood only confirmed your worst fears. Tears streamed down your face as you rubbed your belly, desperate to feel any movement from your baby. But she was still, your belly hard under your touch.
When the doorbell rang, you practically sprinted to the door, your heart in your throat. As soon as you opened it, Cillian was there, wrapping you in his arms without a word. The warmth and strength of his embrace allowed you to finally let go, your sobs muffled against his chest.
“I can’t lose this baby, Cill… I can’t,” you cried, clinging to him as if he were your lifeline.
“You’re not,” he whispered fiercely, pulling back just enough to cup your face in his hands. “She’s going to be okay. You’re both going to be okay.” He tried to hide his own fear, focusing instead on getting you to the hospital.
He helped you into your coat, his hands steady despite the turmoil raging inside him. He grabbed your bag and guided you down the stairs, his arm around you as he ushered you to the car. The drive to the hospital was a blur of anxiety and whispered reassurances, Cillian’s hand never leaving yours as he drove.
At the hospital, you were rushed into the emergency room. Cillian stayed by your side as the nurses and doctors swarmed around you, hooking you up to monitors and checking your vitals. They quickly moved you into a private room, where they began the process of evaluating your condition. An Ultrasound Transducer Belt was strapped to your belly to monitor your baby's heartbeat, and you clung to Cillian’s hand as the minutes stretched on, each one filled with unbearable tension.
Cillian sat beside your bed, his chair pulled as close to you as possible. He didn’t let go of your hand, his thumb stroking your knuckles as he watched the medical staff with intense focus. Every time a nurse entered the room, he straightened, his gaze never leaving your face.
Finally, the sound of your baby’s heartbeat filled the room, steady and strong. Relief washed over you, your body sagging into the bed as you realized she was okay. Cillian squeezed your hand, a small smile tugging at his lips despite the worry that still lingered in his eyes.
“See? Everything’s okay,” he said softly, leaning over to kiss your forehead. His voice was calm, but you could feel the tension in his grip, the fear that had gripped him since you called still lurking beneath the surface.
One of the nurses performed an ultrasound to check the placement of your placenta. The image on the screen confirmed what your gynecologist had suspected: placenta previa. Your placenta was covering nearly all of your cervix, which was causing the bleeding. The news was both a relief and a new source of concern, but at least you knew what was happening.
Your gynecologist, a calm and reassuring woman, entered the room after reviewing the results. She approached your bed, her expression serious but gentle.
“Y/N,” she began, “we’re going to monitor your bleeding closely over the next few days. If it stops, we’ll be able to send you home with some strict instructions to rest. However, if the bleeding continues or worsens, we’ll need to keep you hospitalized for longer to ensure both your safety and the baby’s.”
You nodded, too exhausted to say much, but the gravity of her words settled heavily on you. The idea of staying in the hospital for days—or longer—was daunting, but you knew it was necessary.
Cillian listened intently, his focus solely on the doctor’s words. He nodded in agreement, his free hand resting on the bed near your leg, a silent promise that he wasn’t going anywhere.
After the doctor left, the nurses started an IV to assess the blood loss and placed a large pad in your panties to monitor the bleeding. Cillian helped you get comfortable, adjusting your pillows and making sure the blankets were tucked around you just right.
When everything was settled, he sat back down beside you, his hand finding yours again. “Get some rest now,” he murmured, his thumb brushing against your skin. He was still scared, but he knew he had to stay strong—for you and for your baby.
The room was dimly lit, the soft hum of the machines the only sound. Cillian watched you as you drifted off to sleep, his eyes never leaving your face. He was determined to prove that he could be the man you needed, the father his daughter deserved. And as you slept, he made a silent vow to be there for you, no matter what.
Hours passed, and eventually, he drifted off, lulled by the rhythmic beeping of the monitors and the steady heartbeat of your baby. But his rest was light, every sound stirring him until he awoke to the sight of you tossing and turning in the bed.
“You sleep okay?” he asked, reaching out to brush a stray strand of hair from your face.
“Kinda.” You managed a small smile, the sight of him easing some of your anxiety. “I’m glad you’re here,” you confessed softly, your voice barely audible as you looked at him.
“Where else would I be?” he replied gently, his eyes soft as he looked at you. After everything, he was determined never to leave your side, to be there for you in every way possible.
“You should go home,” you suggested, your fingers intertwining with his as you sat up slightly. “Have a shower, get some sleep.”
“No, don’t worry about me,” he insisted, his grip on your hand tightening slightly as if to emphasize his point.
“Come on. I’ll be fine. You can come back at lunchtime.” You appreciated his company more than you could express, but you knew he needed rest too.
“Fine,” he relented, standing up slowly, still half-asleep. “Do you need me to bring you anything from home?” he asked, shrugging on his jacket.
“Yes, please. Actual clothes would be nice,” you joked, glancing down at the hospital gown you were wearing. Everything you had on earlier was stained with blood, and you longed for something more familiar.
“Of course,” he agreed, taking your keys from your purse. As he walked towards you to say goodbye, you moved to give him a kiss on the cheek, but he surprised you by closing the gap between you two with a loving kiss.
You were taken aback at first, but soon you melted into it, feeling a closeness to him that you hadn’t felt in a long time.
“Bye,” he murmured as he pulled back, giving you one last look before walking out the door.
“Bye,” you whispered, watching him go. Confusion swirled within you. You loved him, wanted him, and needed him, but the past still cast a long shadow over your heart. You decided to give in to the feelings, but to take things slow. After all, you might need him more than ever after this to take care of you and the baby.
But as the door clicked shut behind him, a wave of anxiety washed over you, reminding you of all the reasons you couldn’t fully trust him. Panic gripped you, and without thinking, you reached for your phone and texted your sister.
“Call me as soon as you see this,” was all you sent her. It was 7 a.m., and you knew she had a busy schedule—she had a baby boy of her own and a husband. The thought of her being preoccupied made you feel even more isolated, but you needed to hear her voice, to find some grounding in the chaos of your emotions.
After sending the text, you typed out another message to Liv, explaining what had happened. Your fingers trembled as you pressed “send,” and you anxiously waited for a response. Minutes later, your phone rang, Liv’s name flashing on the screen.
“Are you okay?” Liv’s voice was laced with concern, the urgency clear.
“Yeah, we’re fine. It’s just the placenta,” you sighed, trying to keep your voice steady, but the exhaustion was evident.
“Oh, fuck, Y/N. Is the baby all right?” Liv’s worry was palpable, making your chest tighten.
“She’s okay,” you reassured her, rubbing your belly instinctively. “They said she’s not in distress, but they’re monitoring me for the next few days to see if the bleeding stops. If it doesn’t, I might have to stay in the hospital longer.”
“God, that sounds so scary. I wish I was there with you.” Liv’s voice softened, filled with genuine care.
“I wish you were too,” you admitted, feeling a lump form in your throat. “Cillian’s been here, though. He stayed with me all night.”
“That’s good. I’m glad he’s stepping up,” Liv said cautiously, knowing your history with him. “But how are you feeling about everything? About him?”
You hesitated, the emotions swirling inside you. “I don’t know, Liv. I love him, and he’s been amazing today, but I’m scared. What if he doesn’t stick around? What if he can’t handle this?”
Liv was silent for a moment, considering her words. “Y/N, I think he really cares about you and the baby. But you need to protect yourself too. Take things slow, let him prove that he’s in this for the long haul. You don’t have to make any decisions right now.”
“I know, I just—” Your voice broke, the stress of the past hours catching up to you. “I’m so scared, Liv. I can’t lose this baby.”
“You won’t,” Liv said firmly, her voice steady and reassuring. “You’re strong, and you’re doing everything you can. Just take it one day at a time, okay? Do you want me to come over?”
“No. Don’t worry about me, but thank you,” you whispered, feeling a wave of gratitude wash over you. “I’ll keep you updated.”
“Please do. And rest, okay? You and that little one need it.”
You promised you would, and after saying goodbye, you hung up the phone, feeling slightly more at ease. But the unease lingered, the fear of the unknown still weighing heavily on your mind.
As you lay back against the pillows, your thoughts drifted to Cillian again. The kiss, his determination to stay by your side, the way he had comforted you—it all felt so real, so genuine. Yet there was still a part of you that couldn’t shake the doubts. Could you really trust him? Was he truly ready to be a part of this, or was he still holding back?
Liv’s words echoed in your mind: *Take it one day at a time.* You knew she was right; you needed to protect yourself, to take things slow. But as much as you tried to focus on that, you couldn’t ignore the hope that had started to flicker inside you—the hope that maybe, just maybe, Cillian was ready to step up and be there for you and your baby.
With a deep sigh, you closed your eyes, willing yourself to rest. The day had been long, and your body was crying out for sleep. But even as you drifted off, Cillian’s face lingered in your thoughts, a mix of fear and hope swirling within you.

CONFIDENTIAL PROGRESS REPORT
DRC, Insemination Operations Command, Mobile Operations Unit
Date: [REDACTED]
To: Minister [REDACTED], Ministry of State Security
From: Administrator [REDACTED], Mobile Operations Unit
Subject: Cost of Conscripting Youth in Rural Communities
[REDACTED] (Arkansas, FEMA Zone 6) is an outlier for a small rural community with a population of [REDACTED] and a long history in the lumber industry. Of particular note, [REDACTED]% of the 18-25-year-old population has tested positive for high fertility markers and subsequently been conscripted as surrogates. The DRC Planning & Evaluation Office has been monitoring the situation as a case study of the economic impact of forced surrogacy conscription.
Mobile Paternity Units (MPU)
The newly deployed Mobile Paternity Units (MPUs) accelerate conscription rates by conducting field-based surrogate insemination protocols. The MPUs are fully equipped mobile hubs designed to identify, secure, and inseminate fertile surrogates in regions lacking the infrastructure or security to establish permanent paternity compounds.
Currently there are [REDACTED] MPUs in commission, operating in circular routes- - - - -

MPU Background Context
The rural disruption program continues to be a success thanks to the deployment of the MPUs, which have been incredibly effective at deliberate societal destabilization.
As mentioned in last quarter's deployment report, in addition to the direct impact of mass insemination, MPUs employ covert biochemical measures to destabilize social order further. By introducing a cocktail of hormones and aphrodisiacs into the water supply, the MPUs incite heightened states of lust, confusion, and distraction among the population.
Among surrogates, this amplifies the effects of prenatal nymphomania, who, driven by uncontrollable desires, contribute to a pervasive atmosphere of hedonism and chaos. It also magnifies the feelings, thoughts, attractions, and behaviors of the non-surrogate members of the community, who participate in the physical activities with almost primal intensity.
The relentless pursuit of physical gratification prevents the community from focusing on its deteriorating condition, eroding familial bonds, productivity, and any sense of collective purpose. The combination of mass pregnancy, chemical manipulation, and social disarray leaves these towns paralyzed while serving the DRC’s objectives of surrogate acquisition and societal control.
By the time the vast majority of surrogates give birth and the MPUs return to collect the resultant offspring, the workforce is effectively crippled and vulnerable to collapse. Their ability to organize, resist, or rebel against external control diminishes, dependent on external support, unable to mount any meaningful opposition.
The cumulative consequences are both immediate and long-term, unraveling the town’s economic stability, social cohesion, and cultural identity.
I. Labor Market Collapse
As their pregnancies advance, these surrogates are unable to contribute meaningfully to the workforce. Compounding this crisis, the introduction of aphrodisiacs to the water supply inflames the atmosphere of widespread indulgence and physical fixation, leaving critical sectors paralyzed:
Agriculture: Fields go untended as the remaining workforce is too distracted or physically compromised to perform essential tasks.
Retail & Services: Shops and local businesses experience severe staff shortages, with employees increasingly abandoning their posts in favor of personal distractions. Productivity is reduced, and many businesses shut permanently.
Construction & Infrastructure: Public services (water supply, power, policing) are abandoned as skilled laborers become unavailable or uninterested.
This mass disengagement leads to a cascading failure across the economy. The distraction and incapacitation ensures that productivity never recovers.
“It’s like everything just… fell apart overnight. Most of the boys are now carrying these enormous pregnancies, some with 10, 12, or even 16 babies. They’re so big they can barely move, let alone work. My nephew is bedridden, his stomach so swollen and stretched it looks like he’ll burst. Businesses are shutting down left and right. The diner is now it’s closed because the staff is too preoccupied, too exhausted or too pregnant to keep things running.” - Victor Hayes, Charlevoix, Michigan, FEMA Zone 5
II. Population & Social Erosion
The breakdown of social order is exacerbated by prenatal nymphomania. This heightened state of physical fixation pervades the community, undermining traditional values and civic responsibilities:
Educational Decline: Schools lose both students and teachers as attendance drops. Classrooms empty out, and extracurricular programs vanish as the youth prioritize physical distractions over learning and participation.
Community Disintegration: Social events, youth programs, and local traditions deteriorate. The focus shifts away from community-building activities as families experience fragmentation and isolation as personal indulgence takes precedence over collective well-being.
The resulting social decay ensures that the community’s structure collapses from within, leaving it vulnerable and dependent.
“It’s like the entire town has lost its mind. My little brother is one of the surrogates. He’s just 19, and carrying 14 babies. He can barely move now, his belly is so massive and tight with those babies. And it’s not just him — every boy his age is the same. The weirdest part is they used to fight this, but now they seem so into it. And the rest of us? It’s like we’re all under a spell. Nobody wants to work, go to school, or even talk about what’s happening. Everyone’s just chasing some kind of high, day in and day out. There’s no sense of responsibility, no one to keep things running.” - Collin Tanner, Owensboro, Kentucky, FEMA Zone 4
III. Economic Ripple Effects
The economic consequences of the MPU deployment extend beyond immediate labor shortages. As the population becomes consumed by the chemically-inflamed environment, traditional economic functions disintegrate:
Real Estate Market Collapse: The prospect of family life and economic stability vanishes. Young adults are physically incapacitated or disinterested in establishing households or familial units.
Healthcare Strain: The need for prenatal care among the surrogates overwhelms local clinics. Meanwhile, rising cases of substance abuse and physical exhaustion further strain the system. Access to local healthcare diminishes, and locals become dependent on DRC resources.
This economic freefall ensures that recovery becomes unattainable, plunging towns into long-term decline.
“I’m 21, and I’m carrying 15 babies right now. My belly is so huge and heavy, I can barely get out through the front door. I used to work at the hardware store, and I was saving up to get my own place. But that dream’s gone now. Everyone my age is pregnant or taking care of someone who is. I’m too big and too tired to care. We’re all trapped in these enormous pregnancies, and there’s no help coming.” - S???-994-O, Andersonville, Georgia, FEMA Zone 4
IV. Collapse of Social Norms
These combinations contribute to a disintegration of social and familial distinctions, fostering an environment where traditional lines of propriety become increasingly obscured:
Dissolution of Familial Roles: As surrogates’ pregnancies advance and the community’s pervasive fixation on physical indulgence, interactions begin to appear that defy established familial roles. Young surrogates, often confined to their homes due to the extreme size of their pregnancies become focal points of attention in ways that undermine traditional respect and relational boundaries.
Loss of Interpersonal Distinctions: The community’s collective fixation results in behaviors and dynamics that would otherwise be constrained by societal norms. Familiarity within and outside households devolves into ambiguous interactions influenced by heightened compulsions.
The cumulative effect of these blurred boundaries ensures traditional norms are rendered obsolete, leaving the community adrift in a state of chaotic permissiveness.
“It’s hard to explain how things got this way. My cousin is one of the surrogates. He’s only 19, and his belly is just… massive... swollen beyond anything you’d think possible. He’s carrying 14 babies, and the sheer size of it, how tight and stretched his skin is... There’s something about seeing him like that — so heavy, so full — that just draws you in. Now, when I see my cousin leaning back against the couch, his huge belly dominating his frame, moaning as the babies kick and move inside him, I can’t stop myself from feeling drawn in. His body his so full and stretched... it’s mesmerizing.” - Derek Knight, Fulton, Illinois, FEMA Zone 5
V. Long-Term Consequences
The deployment of MPUs and the ensuing mass insemination drive the town into an inescapable cycle of decline:
Economic Decay: With the majority of the workforce incapacitated, businesses fail, infrastructure deteriorates, and investment ceases. The community becomes a “ghost town,” marked by derelict buildings and economic stagnation.
Dependency on External Aid: As self-sufficiency erodes, the town becomes reliant on DRC support. Demoralization set in, deepening the dependency cycle.
Loss of Cultural Identity: Traditions and community legacies fade as the surrogates’ incapacitation prevents participation in cultural life, collective heritage disintegrates into chaotic, aimless distraction.
“It’s like everything that held us together just fell apart. Both my brothers were turned into two swollen balls of babies by the end. Everyone their age was knocked up, fattened, and taken. The whole town looks like it’s been abandoned, a bunch of ghostly reminders of what used to be. We barely survive on government aid, but even that feels like a band-aid on a wound too big to heal. The town feels hollow.” - Jackson Bender, Northampton, Massachusetts, FEMA Zone 1
Conclusion
The deployment of MPUs and the ensuing biochemical manipulation devastate rural communities. The combined impact of enforced surrogacy, incapacitation, and chemically-induced distraction ensures that these towns collapse economically, socially, and culturally.

The incident
Event log Day: 349 Subject ID: A008 Status: Post-exposure to Archframe prototype Subject A008 displayed elevated aggression levels following prolonged exposure to the Archframe prototype. Blood tests performed at 16:22 revealed a significant spike in cortisol levels (245% above baseline), suggesting a heightened stress response. Despite verbal commands and remote detachment attempts, Subject A008 refused to disengage from the Archframe. At 19:34, the security team initiated a manual extraction protocol, forcibly removing A008 from the biosuit. The process resulted in minor lacerations along the interface points where the Archframe’s cables had integrated with the subject’s neuro-linkage nodes. Immediate medical intervention was provided. Post-extraction: Subject A008 exhibited no further aggressive behavior, with vitals returning to normal levels. The subject retired to sleep at 22:43. Event log Day: 350 Subject ID: A008 Incident: Aggression escalation, violent interaction with Subject A149 At 03:12, security cameras recorded Subject A008 engaging in a violent assault on Subject A149 within A149‘s cell. Subject A008 was observed repeatedly biting and masticating A149, displaying a complete dissociation from prior behavior. Security intervened at 03:15, but despite efforts, Subject A149 sustained critical injuries and entered a coma shortly after the incident due to Subject A008's venom. Blood tests taken from A008 immediately after the incident showed a continued elevation in cortisol and the presence of unidentified neurochemical markers. A008 was sedated and returned to isolation. An emergency partition was erected to prevent direct interaction between A008 and the research team. Medical and psychological evaluations are ongoing. A008 has not responded coherently to any stimuli or questioning. Further investigation into the Archframe’s potential neurological impacts is underway. Event log Day: 483 Subject IDs: A008, A149 Status Update: Post-recovery and continued isolation protocols Subject A149 has regained consciousness and is in stable condition following extensive rehabilitation. Neurological damage appears minimal, though further tests are required to assess long-term effects. Subject A008 remains under close observation and has been prohibited from interacting with the Archframe or any related exosuit technologies unless under direct surveillance by an armed medical team. Aggression monitoring continues via regular blood tests, though no significant incidents have been reported since Day 350.
